Testimonials...

"We are so pleased with what you have created and your attention to detail.

Having given you our ideas and then see them appear in stone was very exciting.

Thank you for a truly lovely job."

About us

R. Brownstone Ltd is a recently formed, rapidly expanding family run business. With over 30 years experience in the reconstituted stone industry we are able to meet your requirements no matter how large or small.

Our stone product is hand crafted by highly trained craftsmen allowing us to monitor every aspect of production, from conception through to delivery. Here at R. Brownstone we feel it is important to be able to give that family touch, enabling us to offer a full design, manufacture and installation service.

Our workshop is located in the beautiful East Sussex countryside, just a stone's throw away from historic Bodiam Castle. So whether it is restoration work, a completely new build or a new addition to the garden, we would be delighted to help.

Making the mould

We have our own mould makers to meet your specification all our moulds are made in wood, rubber or fibreglass depending on how intricate the item is.

This means that we are able to produce items to practically any shape or size to meet your requirements.

Packing the mould

All our stone products are handmade out of reconstituted stone, which is a dry cast mix, that is then packed into the moulds in layers with hand tools.

Once the mould is packed completely the item is left.

Depending on the item, it is left in the mould for either 24 hours or 48 hours before it is struck from the mould.

Fitting a stone baluster

The reconstituted stone item is then left to cure before it is ready to leave our workshop and go to site to be fitted.

We have three standard colours that we produce reconstituted stone in, which are Portland, Bath and York, however we are able to colour match most other colours.
